The Maine Reentry Network exists to liaison between Maine’s communities and those who have been separated from them for any reason, most commonly incarceration or substance use disorder. We believe that reconciliation and reintegration of all living within Maine’s borders into full community membership inevitably leads to reduced relapse and recidivism, collective rededication to one another and our shared values, and ultimately a more vibrant and prosperous Maine.

Every Thanksgiving, we use the Augusta Recovery Reentry Center to provide space and food for those who are unwilling or unable to celebrate the holiday with biological family. We are grateful and eager to join our chosen family to share one another as we consider the good fortune of continued reentry and recovery for another year.

MERN is pleased to name the Rural Behavioral Health Workforce Center, a project of MCD Global, as our highlighted Program for the fourth quarter of 2024. The project provides a roadmap for interested parties to determine the best way to break into behavioral healthcare fields in Maine as well as other jurisdictions. Volunteers allow us to reach further and do more than we could ever hope to do with just our paid staff. The need is great - hundreds of returning citizens need community encouragement and a friendly ear!
